Tell us a little bit about the part of the country you work in?
I cover Western North Island – so Waikato, King Country & Taranaki. My area is predominantly Dairy, Beef and support blocks.
Do you have a connection to agriculture outside of Corteva?
I grew up and live in a Dairy Farming area, prior to starting with Corteva I was a Technical Sales Representative for Farm Source – I spent thirteen years in this role, which has a fairly wide scope, Animal Health, Nutrition etc but the areas I gravitated to were Agronomy and Ag- chem, supporting farmers and contractors, providing on farm trouble shooting and advice to get the best from their pastures and crops. My area was predominantly Maize, Chicory and summer Brassicas.
Can you describe your journey to becoming a Territory Manager at Corteva?
Over the years as a Farm Source TSR I’ve used a lot of and had really good results from Corteva products. I reached a point in my career where I wanted to specialise in either Agronomy or Ag-chem and a Corteva Territory Manager role where I’m obviously Ag-chem focused but essentially get to do both in a supporting role seemed like a natural progression for me.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role with Corteva?
In my previous role I had my “go-too” reps, these were the people I relied on, trusted and enjoyed spending time with. I intend to do all I can to be that rep for my retailer customers. I believe relationships are hugely important and retailers generally stock/sell what they know and trust. What I look forward to in my role is becoming the “go too” Chemical rep for my stores and contractors and adding value to their business.
